if i'm not mistaken...
the stuttery sound is produced by a delay with a very very short delay time...

as for the sample itself... you can probably a similar type off the internet or you can make your own... take a snare sample (not one of those really short stabby kinds) ... lower the pitch about an octave or so... and using a low pass filter... set an attack of about 0.2 seconds... set the filter to minimum... and set the envelope filter to maximum...

i have no idea if that makes sense to you... too late over here.. off to bed.. zzz..

Sounds like a Laser style Hit on the Snare.

well the stuttery sound is something i can do with ease in fl, but the snare it self is kinda wonky.

Thanks for the advice, now i hope i van get something done with it.

ok its been a while now and i still havent figured out the sound i want, i got some help and the help i got was that its not a snare, its a bassdrum that generated higher and ive tried the livebeat synth thingy in fruity loops and i got the sound higher but its still very far away.

I would be REALLY happy if you guys could help me with it.

btw: im a fl,studio user

This is easily done with Korg Electribe ER-1. No idea how would I generate this with anything else. Sorry...

Hi,

Iv'e been getting into music production over the last 6 months and i am very interested in making this sound.I only use soft synths at the moment and im finding it difficult to get this sound.

I am prepared to buy a Korg Electribe ER-1 if it does the trick, but what i want to know is would a Korg ES-1 do it aswell........I think this is a newer version of the Korg ER-1, and i have seen one for a pretty good price.

Thanks in advance for any info........;)

BTW, i am talking about the stuttered snares, like mini snare rolls. NOT the main Snare.

Sounds like they could of been timestretched.

Sounds like he's just playing sixthteenth notes and has a compressor and/or flange on the snare. At the way end he seems to play 64th or 128th notes.

The snare he's playing (laser one) shouldn't be too hard to make. It sounds like a normal kick with some white noise on top, with square and regular waveform distortion.

It's a drum sample with distortion - here's a clip of what I just did:

Used a stock bass drum sample, pitched it up a bit, added some square-wave type distortion, and that was the essence of it. Also ran it through a compressor and an equalizer to clean it up a bit, but nothing essential to the basic sound.

yeah thanks, im getting closer now thanks to you, i distorted it more in fruity (using my own samples) and ill see if i can get it to work.

THanks:D
