My oakey orlando review

Okay let me start off by saying Oakie sure needs to change that silly ass haircut he has. I think he looks like a total jackass, and then to top it off the thinks he is a god. I swear he is such a premadonna anymore. Anyhoo I worked @ Icon of course I think I reconized a couple of the Ta's that came out once I got home and saw a pic of em (bshido) I was up stairs in the vip area most of the night with a black shirt and tan pants on and of course had a head set on...lol I think I actually told bshido (with out knowing you) to back the hell up from behind the vip ropes lol sorry about that.
The turn out was not all that great I am assuming due to the show at tampa the night before and all of the up coming miami shows. Comparedto the last 3 times I worked his shows nothing in comparison....music quality, mixing, crowd turn out just a big BLAH of a night for me. I do give it up for the people who did come out they had a good vibe going on. I was busy working so the only songs I really noticed were Peter martin-perfect wave, The newer breaks remix of led zepplin's "babe I'm gonan leave ya" and his final song was off of his Voyage into trance cd forget which one....I did get some pics not many, and 13 mins of footage on my camcorder lol....=0) trying to film while working and not getting caught by my bosses....funny thing is though towards the end Oakie looked at me once, then looked into his record bag and shot right back at me with this evil glare like "why is this guy recording me" so I quickly took off and put my camera up. He seemed to just be playing to play, not really getting into it, not even seeming to try to put on one of his best nights. This may be due to one of the many factors I mentioned above. Sorry if I happend to be a dick to any of ya....that whole VIP roped off area was not my call it was cus oakie really did not want anyone talking or bothering him. Unless your a hottie with big fake tit's he did not want to be bothered. When he wanted to take a piss who did they ask run with him and make sure nobody went into the bathroom ME ME ME wooohooo NOT whatta premadonna and to think I use to like this guy. I so look forward to hearing and seeing Dj's with more class then him this weekend and not having to see them prance around like bitch's ohh well hope those who went enjoyed it.....and sorry again if I was a dick to ya totally did not mean to!!

| oh yeah....I forgot to talk about the mixing...he did not what I would call slam records but he damn sure did not mix a lot of em...my roomate (big black dude @ icon) that does security with me was watching the booth for me towards the end was watching him Volume down quickly bring in the next record as the one faded out like 3 times towards the end. I dunno I can't mix for , but I am also not getting 20- 50 g's to do a show. I dunno oakie is just BLAH anymore.....no offense to those of you who like him I guess I have just witnessed his transition from being the man to what he is now....of course he is gonna get paid but its like paying for Nike, or Coke....but now its Jokenfold!!! When will it END! |

But I agree, he does need to cut his hair. He didn't look like anything he did on the flyers. I didn't get to get up close and personal with him, except for the time I got to shake his hand. So you very well may be right about him being a premaddonna. But it was cool enough that I got to shake his hand. And while he was looking through his records he pointed and gave me a thumbs up :p (dorky I know :p)
Also, he isn't the greatest DJ ever, I didn't expect him to mix very well. |

| I tend to disagree with this review. Maybe it is because I live in Orlando and don't see much of Electronica, but I really think that the whole night was amazing. I had a good time. I wish more and more nights like that will be in Orlando. |

Me too. People are quick to criticize Oakenfold. But it's true he's just not as good as the 99-2001 Oakey. |
