Well, I think I mix best after eating a few tabs of high powered blotter acid, or after a nice meal of magic mushrooms, HELL even after smoking a couple rocks of crack... really clears up the mind and gets me thinking straight....................... :haha: :haha:
But on a more serious note, NO i don't do any of the drugs above, (well i have DONE mush, but not no more), and I think I mix better after a couple (2-3) beers, but the beers have to be 6.1%.. :D
Good 'ol Canadian Beer... :tongue2 |

I'm pretty sure I mix better while I'm drinking....especially beers...my sets seem to get better towards the end after I have a few beers in me, as long as I don't get tired....but I've had some good sets after I drink 3 or so cups of tea.....sometimes I get TOO fidgety though.....do you guys just drink water or nothing, or do you mix better with alchohol or caffiene? |
When playing out drinking does little else but calm nerves. You are better when you are sober that is fact. the secret is to believe in your talent enough to overcome your jitters. |

| Generally just a couple of beers while spinning, but I've done a couple of nice online sets after coming home pissed drunk from an electronic night at a club. |

| Sober or maybe a beer is good, just to loosen up ... though I did try spinning once when I was quite wasted... OMG I could hardly see let alone hear the music. |

after a blunt, mixing seems so much more fun...
after a pill, mixing seems so much more invigorating... |

Generally i mix much better when completely clean, although i get more excited and more creative when stoned, especially with faders and eq.
Mixing drunk is a rather bad idea, it seems my pitch is perfect all the time, so i can only imagine what the other people hear :D
dJohn, i never tried mixing with pills, however my dj friends tell me that doing so is a VERY bad idea... because it is said that you will mix much better, however there is a price you pay because for that - you might be more easily addicted to it (much more than the regular clubber at least). |

Trust me, I don't know if it's a bad idea, but the part where you mix better is SO true...melodies will never seem as bright and colorful(aurally) and basslines will never seem as hard and punching.
It's impossible to get chemically hooked on E, so yeah, I guess the awesome feeling of completness while spinning, blaring Marco V basslines at 6 in the morning can get stimulating... |
