Some guy on the toontastic forums has put together some short videos showing highlights of Newcastle goals down the years.

Includes the famous win over Barcelona, Shearer arriving for a world record fee as thousands pack the streets, as well as goals from legends like Macdonald and Miburn.

http://www.bsutz.co.uk/steve/clips/GeordiePride.wmv
Begins with Keegan's infamous "I'd love it if we beat them - love it". Includes the 5-0 defeat of Man Utd. The only vid which shows some of the lows as well as the highs.

Plenty of goals from Solano. A disgrace that we sold him for 1.5m, an absolute disgrace.

http://www.bsutz.co.uk/steve/clips/ShearClass.wmv
Tonnes of goals from Shearer.

http://www.bsutz.co.uk/steve/clips/...s_a_Geordie.wmv
Recently found his scoring boots with four goals in four games since his return from injury. Includes his dramatic winner at Feyenoord.

http://www.bsutz.co.uk/steve/clips/Peter_The_Great.wmv
Peter Beardsley - another geordie rattling them in for his hometown club. Some awesome skills on display here.

With broadband they should only take a couple of minutes to download each.

Thanks for the clips.

What provoked Keegan in the beginning of the 3rd clip? He sounded quite angry.

It was the year Newcastle took a 12 point lead after Christmas, only for injury crises and complacency to take effect and we ultimately finished 2nd to Man Utd. As the gap closed and things began to heat up, so did Ferguson and Keegan. Ferguson, being Ferguson, can never take defeat graciously, there always must be someone else to blame. He accused the rest of the league of deliberately playing badly against Newcastle so we could beat Man Utd to the title, and specifically accused Stuart Pearce of convincing his old Notts Forest teammates to deliberately lose to Newcastle.

Ferguson always has his excuses, he sometimes tries to get them in pre-emptively as well. Take for example his comments before the second leg with Porto tonight:

BBC:
quote:
The United boss has also accused his opponents of trying to influence Russian referee Valentin Ivanov ahead of the second leg.

"It was interesting to see them ask for a good referee. Why is it they always want the referees to help them?" Sir Alex added.

The media try to spice up this childish behaviour by labelling it "mind games". To be honest he's just a sore loser. Don't get me wrong, he's a great manager, but Keegan isn't the only one to have grown tired of it.
