So yeah, some of you might remember me, some not, but I've been off in the woods for a year... well, no not really, but I did spend the summer out there. Anyways, I revisited my roots (which, aside from prog house and trance and that bit, happens to be jam, rock, funk, etc. I have sorta recently (8 months ago) been introduced to a band called RAQ that I have determined lies somewhere in the middle of the electronic/acoustic transaition zone. This is unbelievable. Imagine the fastest, cleanest guitar you've ever heard (Michetti is a ripper) along with a crazy hammond player, Stoops, who tosses out some of the most insane licks I've ever heard. Their rhythm section is ed up too... totally chill but their sound kicks it up to that level where you just want to keep dancing even though your body is in pain -- the mushrooms, acid, belvedere, and pot are still pissing on your brain so why not?
Yeah... that got a bit out of hand. If you like trance (yes, you do) and any sort of good musical talent go, now, and get some of this!
