Cubase vs Fruity vs Reason

Alright, I'm sure this thread is going to stir up all sorts of 'this is better than that' kind of arguments, but -
I wondered if there is any difference in sound quality between the 3 main sequencers that people use. I'm not talking about VSTs vs Reason Instruments or anything. What I mean is, if you took the same sample and put it through the same effects with the same mixer settings - played it through the 3 sequencers, would it come out sounding EXACTLY the same? I mean could you overlay the 3 output sounds and they'd all be exactly the same?
I might have a go at doing it tonight, but I just wondered if the software makes any changes to the sound (in built A-D converters? different routing methods?).

Only thing I can think of is the fact that Reason's engine cuts down the quality of the material somewhat, I think it's around the 12Khz mark.

Oh and because Reason is a closed-system (as you mentioned above) you aren't going to be able to use the SAME effects in Reason as in another sequencer, so the sound will be different, although I suppose with enough work you could tweak the different effects to get the final product to sound the same.

Ah, good point. Okay, to rephrase my original question - if you just played the same sample without effects through each sequencer, would it sound the same :D

You said you would/could try this yourself, so why dont you do that, and post your results and findings for as all to gaze upon.

Cheers.
