... and i'm not talking about corn beef. Lately i've been getting tons of viruses on all my email account. ALL have attatchments and the most common attatchment is .pif.

What's even funny is sometimes it's a .zip and there is an authorization code. Why is there a sudden outbreak? Maybe some type of terorism? Acordding to McaFee, the vriuses (email worms) are very active in North America now.

I guess that's what happens when spammers catch worms. The black-market Viagra merchants are probably too lazy and stupid to actually get antivirus software, so the worms infect their spam programs and they get mailed out to everyone. I get at least 5 worms mailed to me per day from "Elene" < [email protected] >, finally I realized they were all coming from the same address and I blocked it.

It's a symptom of the idiocy of many and the cleverness of a few. Not much more to say about it.

my u of t account is insane with viruses. I get like 3 a day. I think it's ridiculous since a University should be advanced enough to be protected. And they are really scammers too because the mail always says document attached and thanks for the document here are my changes. And those are legit emails I get too on a reg basis so its so possible to catch a virus that way. Thank god for having symantec anti-virus at home, but at school its a different story, the anti-sirus doesn't work on incoming emails.

Rogers is terrible and so are any Hotmail accounts created over a year or so ago. I registered a domain and created a few forwarding addresses that I now use for public e-mail, one that's strictly for business use, one for friends and one for web sites that require an e-mail address for activation and stuff like that. Hotmail is useless to me because there's no POP access and tons of security problems.

All those three addresses of course forward to the same address, which is a new address that I created on Rogers at the same time I registered the domain; ironically, I'm getting spam (just a little bit) on the Rogers address even though I've never given it to another living soul and there would have been no way for anyone to track it (I send mail through a totally different account and only receive on my forwarding addresses).

Moral of the story: Someone at Rogers sells addresses. Not to as many people as they used to sell to, but frankly, 1 is too many.
