WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
Man, i feel your pain. I had a wicked bout with mono, i lost close to 20 lbs off my already skinny frame, and was pretty much limited to nothing but laying in bed for close to 2 months. Good luck with that.

word to the wise if you have a bacterial infection..

do NOT eat honey with your tea or anything sweet, nor eat spinach. Yes honey may sooth your throat, but the sugar in it is food for bacteria. Same goes for Spinach the high iron content can be food for the bacteria causing your sickness.

if you have a COLD/FLUE which is a VIRAL infection then yes honey is perfectly fine, and will sooth your sore throat.. Since virus's DO NOT feed on honey..

if you have STREPTOCOCCUS which is BACTERIAL then they will feed on sugar and i'm sure Drs would not perscribe honey with tea.

lol mind you this is all based on crap I learned in school like 4 years ago... hah check on it!

well it doesn't appear that i hav a strep throat since i hav cold like symptoms which aren't supposed to apply to strep according to "webMD.com"

quote:

What are the symptoms of strep throat?
The most common symptoms of a strep throat infection are sudden, severe sore throat; pain or difficulty swallowing; fever over 101 °F(38.33 °C); swollen tonsils and lymph nodes; and white or yellow spots on the back of a bright red throat.

Strep throat does not occur with coldlike symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, or a runny or stuffy nose. In general, the more coldlike symptoms you have, the less likely it is that your sore throat is a strep infection.

the hunt continues ..
