| Hey there, I'm coming to chicago for paul van dyk. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some must-do's there. From dining to shopping, to clubbing.. whatever. Doesnt' even have to do with EDM even, as far as clubs go. Just wanted some insight on what goes down in the windy city. |

Depends on what floats your boat?
We have the museums, Navy Pier, ESPN Zone, zoo's and such. (non EDM) and so much club wise and food wise here as well. What are your interests?? |

Well friday night, i'd love to do something very "chicago" w/ my girlfriend. whether dining or sightseeing or romantic..something I can't get anywhere else. Any funky fun sushi bars possibly for dinner? well known? You know how philly has the cheesesteak, new york has the pizza.. what does chicago have ???
Any cool lounges to goto w/ decent EDM ???
Thanks ahead of time for any info. |

Okay...
Good sushi joint:
Kamehachi
1400 N. Wells St., Chicago
312-664-3663
It's a nice little joint in Old Town (which is a very romantic place to go for a walk, if you're going with your girlfriend) (I live over in this area). It's BYOB too, in case you're gonna be doing any drinking for dinner.
In terms of lounges with Electronic/Dance Music, I like Blu up in Lincoln Park. If you get there before mid-night, the front bar area plays a pretty decent selection of electronic music. At midnight when the open up the back half of the club, there's a wonderful dance floor and two more bars but the music tends to become a little electro-hip-hop-rap-ish, but still dancable.
Blu
2247 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago
773-549-5884
Also, while you're in Lincoln Park at Blu, there are about a million and a half bars around that area full of college aged kids (it's the heart of the DePaul Lincoln Park Campus). You could easily just go to Blu and if you're not digging it, just walk out and walk down the street and find another place to go.
And in terms of other Chicago only stuff, check out the top of the Sears Tower. High building, can see Wisconsin on a clear day!
Very romantic: The Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hanbuilding. It's a bar, but it's a swank joint to go and gives you a gorgeous and romantic view of the city (I've always wanted to film up there, but it's impossible too!) Go at night!
Just go shopping on the Magnificent Mile. It's all about Michigan Ave Shopping!!! Be warned though, it's might easy to spend a lot of dough on that strip of road, and everything closes at like 7:00 or 8:00.
If you're looking for a decent place to catch some lunch while shopping, I suggest eating at the Cheesecake Factory in the lower part of the John HanBuilding.
Hope you have a fun time in Chicago, and hope you have a blast at PvD. I'll be there having the time of my life. |

HOW COULD I FORGET?!?
When your evening is winding down...at about 4AM, head over to the clark and Belmont area and go to THE WEINER'S CIRCLE.
It's this lovely little hotdog italian beef joint where they treat you like utter and total garbage. I'm takling they swear at you and MF you left and right like it's nothing. IT'S A BLAST!!! You gotta check it out, and it's a great place to eat at 4AM.
That or Clark's on either Belmont or Fullerton (there's two of them).
But definately make it a point to check out Wenier's Circle. |

Retrokat! thanks for the info!! I appreciate you taking the time out and writing that for me. Sounds like I might have to check out "Kamehachi" ... and as for the Sears Tower... how long is the line for that on a saturday or friday ??? :)
You'll be there for pvd 2??? I cannot wait !!! I had such a good time in NYC i had to go out and bet some more PVD!!
Thanks again.... :)

cubbies are in town that weekend if yer into baseball (or even if you hate baseball and are just into drinkin').
havent been to the sears tower in a bit so cant answer you on that.
vision closes at 5pm on saturdays, 4pm every other night.
food: chicago also has the pizza, deep dish pizza. there is also a good beef joint (mr. beef's) that is near vision. if you a very romantic dinner (and pricey for that matter), check out Geja's (sp?) fondue or the signature room which is located on the 95th floor of the john handtower. if you dont want to eat up there, you can go up to the 96th floor and have a few cocktails while overlooking the city. |

My vote for a nice night with your girlfriend if definitely the
Signature Room atop the HanBuilding. You'll have to make reservations and bring a credit card, but it's worth it! My husband proposed to me there, and it was beautiful. Have fun while you're here. SEE YOU AT VISION!!:p |

| I remembered the other day...Café Sushi is the BYOB joint in Old town. BUT, Kamehachi is also in Old Town but is mucho more than Café Sushi. If I remember right. Just adding that note. |
