Hi, here is fallen skies, a new melodic trance tune produced by p.e.g.

I enjoyed making this song, I hope you enjoy listening!

Any comments and feedback are welcome.

0:42 minor buildup led to a dissapointment. Sounds like the notes aren't quantized at 0:55. Strings come in too abruptly at 1:09, change the mood too quickly. Chord progression is annoying from 1:30 - 1:37, sounds as if it's a few beats off.

1:43 - new percussion suddenly takes the forefront of the percussive voices and then leaves, as if a DJ is mixing in a new track...doesn't really work imo. Lead synth in the buildup sounds as if it's been run through a particularly agressive low-pass filter. Snares don't have the right presence. During the climax, the high-frequency percussive elements lack presence as well..although it might be the ty mp3 quality.

On a positive note, I'm loving the melody. Great idea, just need to fix up the track.

Thanks a lot for replying, tranc3. Some very good points.

I agree that this song has some "continuity issues" [ahem]. More learning to be done there!
Do you have any tips regarding continuity when arranging tunes?

I am glad you liked the melody though, it is definitely the strong point of the song imo, and I think turned out sounding quite sweet!

I would love to hear more feedback from anybody, especially regarding mixing.

- What can I do to add more presence to the snare rolls?
- Any helpful tips on the mixing of the kick/bass?
- Is the main part of the tune too bright?

You enjoyed making it and I enjoy playing it over and over again...
The melody is really beautiful. I just love it!
My only problem is the quality of the mp3.

Anyways, I love it! Thanks to share it!

Nice original track!

- I liked the bassline.
- That bassy pad thing that comes in at 2:04 sounds niiice
- I liked the mellow strings in the breakdown
- I liked the melody during the chorus, didn't like the rest of it so much...
- I looved that second melody that comes in, awesome!
- The breakdown after the chorus sounds out of place, to short, perhaps it only needs 1 climax?
- Needs a bit more polishing on the production side

All in all a nice song.

Thanks! I'm really glad to hear you guys have enjoyed listening.

I'll do some more work on the production side of things once I have learnt and practised more.

Any more tips?
