Never heard the original, so here goes... (as I listen)
Nice beginning, really smoothly put together. Can't say I like the strings around 1:45, they tend to slow down the energy that was being built up so nicely. Comes full circle though with the piano-synth...turns out to work really well imo. Guess it just took what seemed to be an unexpected turn.
Nice lead melody. The supplemental piano chords work quite well.
Only major gripe I have is with the piano in the first breakdown, I get the feeling that you go a bit overboard with it...just tends to get repetitive with the constant piano looping and supplemental chords in the background. Might be because the piano playing the lead melody sounds a bit hot to me.
Other than that, excellent work. |
