Dual monitors are just cool, I need a second one, more space to spread yourself around :)

Watch a DVD on one and MSN on the other, that would be my usual use.

but tnx for beeing here!

Well, if you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask. I'm not the kind of guy that will give an answer like "OMG you noob!" You can't know everything. But surely there's probably someone out there that knows, and if he's willing to share his knowledge, that's for the better, isn't it?

yes, and you are extremely helpful. Thank you.

Thy da man!

So you recommended Matrox Dual VGA card rather then Ati Radeon and Nvidia?

Well, I do not know much about Matrox till the shopkeeper recommend it. Good for playing game also? (Well, need some break on gaming I suppose):D  :D

Matrox cards are not intended for playing games (well the parahelia was kindof, but not really), so I'd go for a flavor of Radeon if that is also a priority.

you can get away with using your usual VGA card, and just some ty PCI card you can buy for cheap. Very simple to set up. but not as useful as you might think, and can even get to be a bother. Just my opinion though.

but uhh, what Fasssy said.

I couldn't go back.. Its FAR more useful than you might think. Maybe you have to actually do on your computer for it to be useful  .

Yeah man. I just found out that Matrox had only 32mb.

But if I were to choose Ati Radeon, which would be more appropriate to get? I planning to get a dual output but had no idea which to get. :)

Indeed the Matrox one are completely lagging behind for gaming. But again this is not their main intent, as Matrox are designing their cards for professionals. Their Ramdacs are the best, so their picture quality is best too (and even for the secondary outputs, their ramdacs are still great). And that's most important for people that work day in day out looking at a monitor for their job. Those people don't care about games (well, not on their work computers :D).

But if you still want to be able to game a bit, of course you'll need one of the "better" cards in the area. Like I said, even their lowest models usually have dual output. So I guess you have to decide about a ratio, how important is gaming to you? If it takes a big part of your time, take a higher model, as not to be lagging behind the requirements of the actual games.

Thy for prez!

Well, a little of gaming to kill time. but production as major time. Hehe... I shall choose Ati radeon 9200 as it had a dual.

I can see that matrox had been highly recommended by ya. Are u using one? hehe :)

I've been a long time user of the Millenium and the Millenium 2 on some older of my workstation computers.

My main computer has a Geforce 4 4400Ti now, but it also serves for gaming.

There's a new DAW coming, dedicated to only that, and it will receive a G550/650
