Been working on this one off-and-on for about 3 weeks. This is my first attempt at any sort of full on remix or track, so any objective feedback is needed and appreciated. The only thing I used from the original is the bass, the melody that starts in the breakdown, and the melody at the end of the song before it winds down--all three of which I keyed out and created my own MIDI files for. No samples from the original were used.
I still have a few issues I want to work out with the first two minutes or so, and some other percussion issues (especially with buildups), but I will do that later.
The motivation behind doing this remix was the lovely melodies...I can't seem to get enough of them.

Anyway, please post objective criticism and thoughts. Keep in mind this is my first. Thanks. |

Ok, well you said you know you need to work on your percussive elements, but I feel the need to re-iterate one part...clap needs upper frequencies, it's horrible played solo as it is.
Intro melody is too simple for my tastes...simple can be good, but not simple-predictable. Might want to consider taking out or changing those closed hihats on every beat and every off-beat, they sound more like a metronome than anything else.
Good idea for the buildup, having the kick come in bunches of rolls like that...only thing is, the lead synth is nowhere near that level of energy. On the lead synth...give it more upper frequencies, it's sounding really muffled right now.
Add something else to counter the leading melody as well, otherwise the mix tends to get boring.
Not bad for a first time thing. |

| The synths are pretty decent, compared with the perc line and bass.., but try to add more percussion and fx! I agree with Tranc3. |
