Marc O'Tool's mix of Urban Train is massive. Totally transforms the original and the flute melody is gorgeous. I suppose it's not for everyone though.
And Mauro's mix of Lethal Industry is easily the best mix of the track, and in the top five Picotto productions ever. It's so brilliantly atmospheric and brooding and the bassline is a monster.
One of my least favourite remixes is DJ Shog - The 2nd Dimension (Johan Gielen Remix). To be fair the original was nothing special but Gielen turns in his absolute worst production to date. Cheap and insultingly insipid, this record should be deleted and never spoken of again. |

Anything that Rezonance Q touches. ESPECIALLY The Space Brothers - One More Chance (Rezonance Q Remix).
Ferry Corsten's "remix" of Art OF Trance - Madagascar, although it sounds good, it is a very lazy job IMO. If you've heard both the original and the Cygnus X Remix, then you'll probably have noticed that both have very little in common, and Cygnus X created the melody which the track is recognised for. All Corsten did was add his trademark bassline and changed a little here and there, and while making it more DJ friendly, doesn't really add anything IMO and if anything sounds a lot more generic than Cygnus X's original remix.
There are hundreds but one which stands out in particular is X-Avia - Dreaming (Dex & Jonesey Remix). |

Anyway the remix of iguana is the most insulting song i've ever heard. it disgusts me that bxr have actually released it. from what used to be my favourite record label to releasing insulting rubbish.
as for dj tiesto - lethal industry (mauro picotto remix). i think he made a decent job of what is one of the most tedious, pishy trance tunes i've ever heard. Sure it's not mauro's finest 8mins, but it sure as hell beat that horrible original..

William Orbit-Barber's Adagio for Strings (Ferry Corsten remix). i grew up with the original and I think the "happy uplifting" interpretation that Ferry put on this one is a blasphemous desecration of Barber's( or Orbit's) original intentions. just my taste, sorry. |
