extalin - naroque naroiya (v1.0)

i was in the top of this old barn recording some sounds outside out in the country here in rome, georgia, usa. i was recording with an old fostex 4 track because thats the only recording gear i could bring up into that barn, but while we were recording it picked up a lot of talking and other things... the strange thing is that when we brought the 4 track back and played it everything was reversed and if you have ever heard reversed talking it sounds very strange LoL! but anyway... while i was listening to it i heard what sounded like "naroque naroiya". It just stuck out in my head, and since this experience has been a recent influence to me, i decided to call the song this.

here is version 1.0 (i.e. not yet completed) of the song. It is definitely trance, and quite hypnotic to me anyway.

on another note.. i have made a lot of music in the past few months, but not much of it is finished.. i decided to release it all anyway because i doubt i will finish most of the songs, and there's a lot more where this has all come from. I've got to get this php thing working right and then everything will be available for download. it will be at http://www.rb2k1.com/extalin

thanks ahead of time, and peace.

for anyone who is curious, i made the beat / percussions in reason 2.5 and had that already exported, then i loaded that into cubase sx 2.01 and started producing on top of it using vstation, hypersonic, and absynth vsti's. im using a lexicon psp 42 for the flange and various reverb plugins. then on the stereo bus i have T-racks vst running to eq, compress, and limit.

WOOOOW!!! I love this man!!!:eyes:
Really cool production! The bassline is wicked! The FX sounds are very original! I like it soooo much !:)
Great work !

hey, thanks for listening. the fx sounds that come in at :29 is made from some people talking from a foreign country, maybe from somewhere in africa... anyway, in reason, i raised the pitch of it and then put a gate and delay and some other effects on it. its just crazy stuff like that that will make cool sounds some times.

This is sounding very good it has an atmospheric quality that i really like. The percussion is really cool and i feel like its not the same thing over and over which is really good.

All in All this is a good start for a song here.

Nice Job

One of the most (if not the most) beautiful melodies u've ever made. That synth is so awesome man. As for mastering, i have a few tips. You have a lot of high frequency elements in there (lots of little flicks, hi hats, hi pitched FX), however they all crowd into the middle-high region and u don't really have any sharp flicks in there (the ones in the rightmost region of the freq spectrum), which is what gets a track its crispiness. Dont' overdo it though, or you'll sound harsh. BTW, that crash is too harsh...really loud but not that effective. Also, eq the bass/kick to have more softness ... that doesn't mean take away their bang, just make them a bit deeper and softer to have a true pro lower-end to your track. But man...this is some amazing stuff bro! Finish this one, please.

dude man! I love how creative you have gotten mate! The synths are great, the melodies are cool, and so are some of the SFX! Definetly experimenting with EDM, which is a great thing. Keep it up mate! ;)

hey, thanks for the helpful comments yall. i think i have a good kick to experiment with that is really deep and warm and i can tune it to the right frequency. i think it will be interesting to see how the rest of the song goes, because i don't want it to repeat what's already been played.. we'll see though. i may have an update later tonight.

peace,
