I went to record some vocals using cool edit pro 2.1
but nothing was recorded.......i couldnt find the audio tab that would set up where the recording was coming from
is it in cool edit? or my delta 44 sound card somewhere?
im not sure where these audio tabs are...any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

it is selected and i've been using this card to listen to and produce music with over the past year...sound has always worked.
but i remember from back in the early 90's with my wave studio program...i was able to start up something called 'recorder' and i'd have to set it to "Mic", "Aux" "Line in" whateva...and that was with a soundblaster soundcard...since im now using a new sound card and program im finding it difficult to find out how to do what used to be so simple back in the day.....i just gotta find out which audio tab or something i assume.
so i'm looking for something similar in either cool edit or my delta 44...but i was not able to find the path yet |

I have a 2496 card, so it should be relatively the same...
you have such preferences on your card settings tray.
You should have a patchbay/router tab. There you can select how everything is being routed. Wave out, SPDIF out, ect. Also, if you are recording digital via SPIF.. make sure you set the internal clock to digital clock source. Lastly, make sure you raise volume on the source or that you havent muted it. |

| If everything is setup properly it should just be a question of pressing the Red Dot and speaking into the mic, hehe. |

| are you sure you're in the waveform window and not the multi-track window? |

| Maybe you're trying to record at a sample rate that's to high. If you open a 'new file' choose 44.1 kHz at 16-bit, and try again... |
