This is my newest choon.. sounds alot better than the previous, a whole different sound... Has a kind of Paul Maddox style bass, and a nice little riff... Vocals are some old krap i dont know where i got.

the intro crash could of done with some more release...

percussion is...rather different...

intresting bass...bit too sharp for my liking...loosen it up with some delay or something

and where the hell do u get these vocal samples from?

very cheesey melody...sounds like some rave remix of some video game.

90s rave music...

meh, not my cup o tea

trance it up a bit or make it into hardcore then maybe...

The perc is hmm hardhouse... the bass is me trying to get the sound of paul maddox's remix of "dial m 4 moguai"... the melody is not typical hardhouse, tho still not to untypically and the vocals are classic vocals... so theres an explenation

I'll review it later :p

Well, am reviewing whilst using my new BX8's (WAHOOO!! *ahem*...sorry...)

First thing that strikes me is the kick and general power. Love it. Percussion sounds are different and clear. I'd like to hear what they sound like with a little more FX on them.

The bass then comes in - I like it - it's powerful and does the job really well, just sounds a bit "rough" to my ears - with hard house I want a really rounded bomph sound but it needs a little tweak in my humble opinion.

The first lead comes in and reminds me of MarcoV - loops and Tings a little but sounds very soft synthy.

Main lead comes in now - total left pan - can't hear anything in my right headphone (have switched to my headphones now).

After "It's time for house" it drops to just the bass and it seems to go up a note which is unusual. Not sure if it's meant to. Sounds fine on my headphones but on the speakers it does really sound like it goes up a bit in pitch (?!)

I'm not a hard house person really, but I do like this and I rate very much the percussion, track layout and builds you've got going on specifically - very polished in these areas. Like what you've done in the second breakdown to kick back off and like the subtle breakbeat loop in the background cos it really works.

Nice one Alfi, nice one!

BADGER!

:)

thanx for the great review :D
ive fixed the channel problem now.. and btw; the synth that had the problem with panning is NOT the main lead! its just a prelead or whatever.. the main lead is the abresive synth that comes in at the second breakdown... the other is just some crap i putted in so the song wouldt get to monotone :D

said like a diehard tranceaddict:haha: :haha:
well hardhouse is "cheesy" in trance standards. Just think outside the box for a few seconds to get this track. at least that's what i did.

it took me a while and it finally grew on me. The track sounds dirty (dry). That's how hardhouse is all about. Typical TB303 kicks and dry synth lines. I would say keep the panning the way it was. I dunno if it made a major differnce.

watch your key... the begenning of the track, the bassline is half a semitone lower than the end... look it up.

other than that, it's all good
dj_alfi
actually, its not... it just sounds like it.. i have checked ALL the bas patterns and they are at g#2 at the first bar...
