damn, wicked tracks there scottie. too bad i missed it... :|
ok now that i've had time to recover.. sort of..
i had a fantastic nite. best night out i've had in a while. just the right amount of uplifting trance, and when ever it got a bit too much i ventured into the other room for a bit of a difference - which was great.
got in just after 11.30 so i missed Cam's set and his new tune :(
i did a lap of venue, noticed the floor in the main room was considerably full but with enough room to move. I also noticed the general vibe was a lot different to the time I was at Susie Q's for Luke Chable.
I then saw some familiar faces in the lounge area, and some new faces. Hung out there for a while and heard Josh drop some huge tracks - silence and suburban train :tripping: Josh's set really got the crowd hyped.
When Steve Strangis took command of the decks, particularly when the all-too-memorable melody from Solarcoaster blasted from the speakers, the crowd were absolutely pumped. From that point on it just went crazy, the crowd were into it and Steve was having a great time up there.
Some tunes coming out of Steve's bag:
Solar Stibe - Solercoaster
Super 8 - Alba
Active Sight - The Search For Freedom
Jose Amnesia - Eternal
Motorcyle - As The Rush Comes
Oceanlab - Satellite
Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel
Highlight of the set had to be the sing-a-long to As The Rush Comes. Just amazing!
After Steve's set I checked out Elemance in action. Caught some really deep mixing and awesome tracks. Grabbed a CD too which I have yet to listen to, but will soon.
Later on in the night Diggs & Morro tore it up as expected. Around 4am there were still a great deal of people on the dance floor and in the lounge. I was surprised but it was great to see people enjoying themselves.
Caught some of Muli's set (going hard!) before heading out 2 hrs after I had originally intended to leave. I was having such a good time meeting and catching up with people and listening to tunes, time just flew by. Very positive signs for the scene I think.
Great work to all involved in setting up the night! Awesome laser work too =)
I know some of the sets were recorded so it'd be cool to get a hand on them if possible.
Big ups to Chris Pana who made the effort to fly up from Melbourne to support his mate, hand out a load of cds and meet some of us crazy sydney people :)
And of course it wouldn't have been such a great night without all the TA's. You guys rock! `nuff said.
My snaps coming soon. |
