I fanally start workin on a new track, and decide to give Crystal a try for a bassline, I find a very interesting one and start playing it in the play list, turns out that after pressing stop in FL it gets all choppy and I have to wait a few seconds till everyting gets normal again, is this because crystal is a resource HOG or is it makin FL unstable?? (by the way is there any literature I can read on how to use crystal? have had it in my hd for a long time and this is my first time using it :stongue: )

crystal IS a resource hog.
However, I find that it is a very very powerful synth for those atmospheric type of sounds... usually i just render it as wav and then add it in to my tracks instead of using the synth as it takes up way too much CPU

Another synth I find is a resource hog is the superwave performer... I got mine (free cuz i sent in a demo) and all it seems to do is hog the computer... However, it can make some very very powerful leads due to its 14 wavs (versus other synths that use 2 or 3) that each have their paramaters that can be easily tweaked... as well as built in chorus, delay, reverb, parametric EQ, distortion, etc... You can see why it takes up so many resources...

The thing with VST's is that quality is often compromised due to the processor's ability.

Yah, maybe up the buffer so you can here it in the mix, then if you like it, export to wav and darg it back to the playlist (bottem half).
