Is Infusion breaks or prog? I have heard people call them both....
btw I saw one of their video's on Channel V (Australian music channel)
yesterday and it was great! I think it was Infusion - Girls can be Cruel or Infusion - My Name Is Radar
Any aussies know what their latest "popular" release is called? |

Their big release at the mo is "Girls can be Cruel", with the "and my senses tell me danger" lyrics, I quite like it, but it isn't breaks, it's prog house isn't it (can someone tell me if that's right)?
Isn't the guy behind Fex - I Want Your Heart part of Infusion? |

RE: INFUSION
The "popular" release you're thinking of is probably Legacy on AudioTherapy. There's a Junkie XL remix that many of the A-list DJs were caning.
Don't get caught-up in the genres. They can play across the categories - some things can sound more progressive or breakbeats. Theey're working on an artist album now for release Fall 2004, that will be a departure from the 12" dancefloor tracks.

I just posted this elsewhere, but here's a 20 minute video of them playing live at WMC 2004 @ Nerve Lounge:

Other breakbeat albums that are out right now, that are definitely worthy:
DJ ICEY For the Love of the beat (System)
American breakbeat king
www.systemrecordings.com
DJ HYPER WIRED (Thrive Records)
UK breakbeat DJ, also did a Bedrock Breaks album

american breakbeat king....lol....sorry that belongs to uberzone
the wired album I should buy (I saw the tracklist)...oh my. Pray for you, PMT, General Midi, Hyper's remixes and singles. My friend bought it, when he gets it, I'll go over and listen to it and give the verdict.
You can buy Wider Angle and the Remix album together cheap on amazon.com (well I bought it for 46 together on amazon.ca yrs ago). I never bought the most recent hybrid cd, tho I did borrow a friend's cd to review the cd. I'll wait for the remix 2 album to be out in june/july then buy both for 46 again. If you get the chance to see hybrid live...go
and the Air Arena at GKGG this year is just over the top
Hyper
Freeland
Hybrid
Plump's
plus like 7 others |

Smack My Bitch Up is a great tune, over 10 years old now, but still bangs. I wouldn't go as far to say its the best break tune ever, but it's pretty good. |

Chek it and realise the power of breaks :
Smight - Dark Angel (Luke Chable & Smight mix)
Ron Hounder - Outskirts (Hybrid's techfunk break mix) |

Everyone can hate on ICEY but he's the guy who started it all...from breakz being played in the backroom to being played in the main room.
Then you gotta appreciate FREELAND for introducing NU-SKOOL breakz.
