Heathrow is actually pretty far away from London - you need to spend at least half an hour on the tube or train from central london to get out that way, so i would advise you get a hotel etc in the centre of town.
If you're planning on seeing london, and the bars, clubs etc you don't want to be out in Heathrow, which is kinda Uxbridge area, if you're only staying at Heathrow, then you might as well get a hotel out there. |

ok this is soooo my field.
Heathrow Airport, is lower West London (Hounslow area), its a 15 minute drive away from me. If i didn't live with my parents i'd shack you up! :)
Hotels in the area can vary in price, but it all depends on what you have budgetted to spend. There are sooo many hotels in the area that you won't have a problem trying to find one. I think there is a Holiday Inn, which are great value, just up the road from the Airport.
To get into town from the Airport or surrounding area you have two viable options. You can get the Underground (Subway) from the airport or from Hounslow. The route is called the Picadilly line and takes about 30-40 mins to get into town. ALternatively you could use the trains which run from Hounslow. i think they come every 20-25 minutes, and they take 40 mins to get to Waterloo.
Check out www.tfl.gov.uk there is lots of info on travelling around london there! |

You would be best booking a trvel inn in some of the Zone 4 areas of the city, close enough to the city and far enough out to be affordable.
