The only reason people flame it now is because it massively broke into the mainstream. |
No no no. Sandstorm was a cheap piece of from day one. That piss poor, excruciating 303 riff annoyed me from the first day I ever heard it, not to mention those extremely simplistic stabs in the break. The fact that it got so popular and Darude decided to annoy the world with 3 more singles that sounded just like it made it even worse. |

Eh, you're probably right. In the larger scheme of trance it was pretty bad. But compared with other "trance" it shared club playlists with the track was decent, and at least listenable. Sandstorm rears its ugly head in Mayday 2000, but I don't particularly mind.
Some people find different forms of cheese more tolerable than others; I doubt there's an absolute scale. |

hehe, thankgod for that
when I first saw this I was like "this has to be a joke" because it is the most cliched TIT post ever.
kind of nice to see a TIT with a sophisticated enough sense of humor to make a post like this. lol |

Darude would have to be my #1 favorite trance DJ.
Sandstorm was one of the first songs that got me interested in trance. It's fastbeats goes just as fast as this guy.:eyespop: |

There's no way in hell that was done on a 303. |
