mmmm edam trance. All my best work is close to Lasgo standards of international trance brie. I have just got off the phone from Scooter and they are disgusted that I have stolen all their riffs! :) :p
and yet if i try and make dark music, it sounds like im about to top myself. The jackyl and hyde of trance camembert. Enough of the cheese references I feel. :D |

It wouldn't be cheese if it wasn't easy to do ;) |

and lasgo productions might be cheese, the sound is pro. and im not able to create those sounds (that could also be a good thing ofcours heheh), so again, i think it's not that easy:) |

Commercial Music has really good mixing however. I dont prefer cheese but sometimes I find that Commercial Dance has more Order and Sense, where as other stuff can seem dragged on and messy.
Id Listen to scooter anyday over a progressive house track that goes nowhere, with no chord changes for 10mins.
But if we are purley on about Cheese and not 'Commercial' music, then yeah its easier to create. But just as difficult to mix as any other. |

yes...cheese.
I think that some of the so called cheese productions have besides high end sound quality have certain little elements and some quite nice ideas: The synth in Lasgo's "Something" which is in the beginning, the drums of the safri cheese duo, the armin guitar and vocals in "yet another day".
Those little details added to this songs help them to get attention beside a catchy melody and a good makreting strategy.
why don't we make a cheese competetion and see if it's really easy
to create a catchy melody in combination with an high quality standard lead sound, a really clean bassline .
a cheese compo...perhaps some of us get signed them *lol*

I find it really hard to produce cheese. If you can make really catchy melodies it can be easy. Cheese sounds so clean. The mixdown and mastering is so paerfect sounding on most cheese songs. |
