well i have many ideas involving trance but to transfer them from my mind thru my fingers in to the computer is harder than i thought hehe...

but my biggest problem of all is to get a fat kick working together with a rolling bass...can someone here help me...

this is my ty clip:

and i want the kick to work together well with the bass like it's doing in this clip:

http://www.geocities.com/soundclips1/clip2.mp3

can someone help me?

Can't hear them right now. But i think i know what you mean. Maybe someone can post anything about *sidechaining* the bass (and does anybody know a good software compressor with this ability??)

I'll listen when I'm back home. Bass is hardest to fix, but very important to fix IMO.

Don't know if its tighter, but iv'e eq'ed and some other stuff, but both your bass-kick and the bass-line is 'softer' than the other one too.

wot did u use for that b-line? what vst or preset?? sounds top
hey cheggy
Compression might help, but the kick and bassline in the second clip are both a lot deeper sounding. The kick in the first clip is a lot weeker than the second which is a reason why it sounds softer.

Say Damie, why don't you tell is some details about sidechaining. If you won't, others will. ;)

Do you use soft- or hardware btw. I need a software compressor with sidechaining ability... badly, so I can start experimenting with it :haha::happy2:

make a submix. take a compressor.. and set rato to 2:3:1 tholde to -20, attack 10 ms and reless to 50ms..

and it well be ok..

and sidegain is for!.. ***** and radio ;)

I use logic which has a Side chain option on its noise gate and Compressor plug ins.

Basicly you send the kick to a bus and then sidechain the compressor/gate thats on the 'for example', Bass channel to side chain of the Bus.

The kick will trigger of the settings of the compressor/gate.

and If you use a prefader option you can have the effect when the kicks actualy muted, FUN!!, great sound.

All of Daft punks tracks are sidechained.....erm, which is good if you like their soundz:nervous: :D

this is what i'm trying to do in fruity.. trying to get a bassline like in thomas rubin - cold night (dj scot project mix) but i just can't get there.. i'm using the wavles native platnium vsts..

anyone know how i do this? I now understand that i have to use the sound from source 1 (the kick) to triger the comp settings to mute source 2 (bassline) and raise the attack on the off beat (as the kick fades out?? or just with the attack settings???)..

now, how to i link the two? and can i mute the kick as stated above?

anyhelp would be much apreciated!!! :D
