totally...guy is funny and hella intelligent
as for Conan:
I don't like him. He acts childish and his jokes are hardly ever funny. If it wasn't for triumph I would probably never watch the show.
Leno:
Funny but sometime too uptight.
Kimmel:
I think it's on at the same time as The Daily Show so I never get a chance to watch it enough to comment on it. But the guy is funny and has some really clever jokes.
Kilborn:
Don't know him.
Daly:
No comment. Radagast said it best. |

| I like how Conan always turns the jokes around on the guests and makes himself the centre of attention. So funny! |

we only get jay & conan here in israel,, maybe even letterman too, but he's a in idiot
anyways, my vote goes for jay due to the best monologues and the 'headlines', interviews are pretty good imo
if it wouldnt been for him, id pick conan for his personallity and the best interviews (lamest skits though)
and btw, another very funny latenight host is graham norton (uk chan 4), had he been on the list i wouldve picked him |

the best interview i have ever seen on late night was on Conan with Larry King.. when he kept saying "Late night with who?.." it was killer, that whole interview was brilliant..
second best was Letterman when he had Janet jackson.. but still, conan is best out of all those.... carson daly just sucks, the funniest thing he ever said was "late night with conan obrien is a so much better show than this" |

Conan is annoying. at first. Once you watch the show for a bit though, and get to see his weird sense of humor, he's the best of them all. ;)
VERY funny guy who seems perfectly content being his weird self. :p |

I choose Conan O'Brien, and here's my take:
Kilborn: Laughs too hard at his own lame jokes that aren't even funny. Not a funny guy in general. Crap interviews.
Leno: Tells a good monologue joke now and then. Jaywalking is fun sometimes. Also it's nice when someone like Harland Williams comes on to do a remote. Interviews suck.
Kimmel: He thinks he's funnier than he actually is.
Letterman: Laughs rediculously hard at unfunny things. Cracks a smile at the occasional appearance of something funny. Will it float? Do I give a ? Unfunny interviews.
Daly: Why is this man on TV?
O'brien: Can make anyone laugh. Monologue/skits shaky sometimes, but everyone has off days. Funny remotes/interviews. Just a funny guy. |
UPDATE - Conan & Jon Stewart tie for #1, I had forgotten about Stewart.
Additions:
Kilborn: Cancelled
Leno: Strong monologue, hit and miss "bits", stale interviews (unless an eccentric guest is on).
Kimmel: Same
Letterman: Same
Daly: Needs a prop/skit/bit every couple of minutes or so in order to break up the boring and unfunny monotony of his droning voice.
O'brien: Can make most laugh. Weak monologues, strong bits/remotes and interviews.
Jon Stewart: Very clever and funny Jew. ;)
Is it a coincidence that most of the good ones have a history in comedy while most of the bad ones don't?
