Need you guys to give me some advice if any...

I have a friend in school who hasn't been in class for the past two weeks. I caught him online a couple days ago briefly, he told me some joke, and right before I could ask him where he's been he logs off. I talked this night online w/ another friend at school, who knows him a little better than I do, and he says he can't tell me or anyone else what's wrong with him. He also mentioned that his mom, who is a teacher at our school, knows that this kid doesn't want anyone knowing what's going on.
So basically, I want to find out what's up with him. I know he hasn't cut classes, but the other possibilities are probably infinite. Anyone know what I can do to find out more or can anyone possibly figure out what he's trying to hide? |

| Do you just want to know what's up? Or is your inquisitiveness sparked by concern? If you the reason you wanna know what's up is because you want to offer support, then all ya gotta do is let your buddy know you're worried and that you'll listen if he needs to talk. |

time for a serious post today *takes a deep breath*
It's nice to hear your concerned, but what do you hope to acomplish by finding out his "secret"? Let's say he's having drug or mental problems and has taken some time off from school to get help. Do you think he wants everyone at school to know what's going on? Frankly, teengagers, especially in a highschool environment tend not to be very supportive of others having difficulties. So my suggestion is hangout with him if he trust you enough he'll let you know what's up. Otherwise i don't think he'll appreciate you prying into his private life for curiousity sake. |

Good advice, but if you really really are worried then go to his house and try your luck there or ring him up otherwise let time heal and place things in places they tend to go. |

You've given the closest reason for my concern. I simply want to know, as a friend, what's up. I'm not trying to spread rumors around school or anything. First period history sucks without him :( |
