Yanks rule, although their pitches sucks worse than a 10 cent who-are.

nothing gets me more angry than when people say the yankees pitching sucks this year!!!! look at the damn #'s!!!! petitte and clemens and wells were not THAT good! 4.00 era from all of them. the ONLY reason your pitching is worse this year is because of possible injuries. you have mussina, kevin brown (who will most likely have an under 3.00 era [something none of the yanks pitchers have done as of late], and vasquez (who is my favorite pitcher and will give you a 3.30 era most likely. plus he strikes people out like crazy). what i'm saying is, yankee fans are WAY too high on wells, petitte and clemens. they arent that good and the two new guys are much better.

compare the last three years of each guy. and keep in mind that in 2002, petitte pitched UNDER 140 innings...

Kevin Brown

Javier Vasquez

Roger Clemens

Andy Pettitte

David Wells

if they were in the AL central, then maybe. but in that division, its pretty much impossible. everyone forgets about the blue jays who are also AWESOME. but, unlike most, i think the d rays will be fourth and the o's will be 5th. sure, they added palmiero, lopez (who will NOT have the same year this year that he did last year), and tejada, but they have NOOOOOOO pitching. they'd be better off with the 3 mets *5th* starters that dont make the cut than their 3, 4, and 5 guys...

You do realize that the Yankees starting rotations is probably gonna be Mussina, Brown, Vazquez, Contreras, (maybe) El Duque - they called him back up from the farm team.

what i'm saying is, the first three are much better than what you had last year. contreras is iffy because he's only pitched 10 games in the majors. and hernandez is really a long shot for the 5th starter. more than likely it will be donovan osbourne ( :stongue: ) or jorge de paula (young, inexperienced, but a decent pitcher). and again, this is until may when jon lieber comes back.

and hernandez wasn't called up from the farm team. he was a free agent signed by the yanks when they realized (after lieber had already gotten hurt) that the starters are very injury prone.

bleh, whatever, i am still really upset that the yanks got vasquez and got him a 4 year extension. i was really banking on him becoming a free agent and the mets signing him. oh well, maybe... just MAYBE, the mets will sign pedro. :wtf:

Yanks have high hopes for Lieber when he comes back from the injury. And Im very happy the Yanks picked up Vazquez, finally they do something right with the pitching.
