| So, after a few serbian guys chased 3 albanian kids who drowned in the cold river while trying to escape them, there are turmoils all over Serbia and Kosovo. So far, 31 dead, more than 600 wounded, burned mosques all over Serbia, albanians attacking serbian villages all over Kosovo, orthodox churches in Kosovo burned to the ground, including one from 14th century, and of course, both sides attacking the peacekeeping forces and the american embassies. The most likely winner of upcoming serbian presidential elections desires a military assault against the albanians. It seems like NATO forces will be staying down there for a while longer... |

she's right. i saw a tv news special looking at the region a few years after the conflict. Since politicans and the media portray the out come as such a success, I was surprised to learn how much hatred still exists. If the peace keepers left today the conflict would resume where it last left off. So anyone who knows what's its really like over there wouldn't be the least surprised at what happened. |

Ya, exactly. In Bosnia, serbs practically have their own country with their currency, parliament, police and everything. Croats are pissed off that they didn't get the same thing serbs managed to do. If the peacekeepers were to leave, maybe they wouldn't start fighting again, but they'd surely split Bosnia into 3 countries, 2 of which would most likely join their motherlands. |
