18 tracks in 50 mintues?? Is this a radio edits only mix?
DJ_Caesar
hehe, no but i mix with 3 turntables, so there are always 2 songs together...
I put a melody and i put an another song (noizes) over it... And there isn't any radio edit ;)

This is not really my style of trance but heres what I think:

Nice use of the 3 tt's and playing around with the peaks in the songs and the vocals. I noticed some small beatmatching errors but constantly mixing using 3 tt's is difficult to do, not bad at all!

how long did it take you to prep for this?
DJ_Caesar
Thanks Joshua!
actually i started to mix 1 year ago, and i don't know a lot of things about trance... So i suscribed this forum to know more, and i sent this session to know if i'm still far from what trance is :)

about this session:
i know there are many beatmatching errors but 3 tt's is hard, and i'm still training ;)
the style of this session is "progressive", but the spanish one, and i think that there may be a fine line between this and trance (i may be wrong :S)
And the preparation... well... 2 hours to know which vinyl goes with another one (noise + melody), and 50 minutes to record.

By the way, i have 1 Pioneer DJM 600 & 3 Technics SL 1210 M3D, which i modified to mix faster (around 145-150 BPM)

thanks for your post ;)

I've been mixing for a little over a year so I'm still learing as well
I've never mixed using 3tt's but i imagine you need to be alot more focused as well as have more of a plan of what you are going to play as opposed to just improvising.
As far as whether what genre it is, my first impression was that it sounded along the lines of an ian van dahl vocal trance track, very "pop'y" and catchy with a strong emphasis with each phrase transition with breakdowns and builds etc. When i think of progressive trance, i think of less builds and more of a steady driving beat, almost like progressive house although i may be wrong. it can definitly be hard to put genre labels on some tracks but a good way to check out different styles is to find online record stores that let you listen to samples of the records.
btw, i have a djm500 and m3d's as well so how did you modify the tt's??

Hope this helps!
DJ_Caesar
Sure it helps :P

To make your tt become faster, all you need is a screwdriver. You open your tt (under where the vinyl turns) and you'll see somewhere "PITCH". You have to turn this clockwise to increase the pitch, and to decrease.... well... easy xD
But the pitch is a bit strange after that... It becomes from +-13% to +-14% (it changes everyday!!!!), and the pitch isn't... mm.... linear.. I mean from "0" to "+6", it's linear, but from "+6" to "+8", it increases quickly. But with boosted tt, yuo'll mix faster, and i think, it's better ;)
tell me if it doesn't work :)
