How much do you sleep?

I was just wondering how much you TA's sleep.
I'm a genetic freak (I'm a "short sleeper"), and I only sleep 1-3 hours a day. I've been like that since I was an early teenager. If I sleep any more I feel horrible all day and every once in a while I even go a night with no sleep. I know it's rare to be like that, but I also know most people don't sleep the normal 8 hours a night. So anyway...how much do you sleep a night? |

wow... wish I could do that, would definitely have more time to do stuff!
I sleep on average 6 hours, I try and get 7-8, but it never happens - feels really good but if I over sleep, like 9 hours then I just feel really drained for some reason? |

i sleep considerably more when i am on 1-Testosterone which causes lethargy. one time (when i was dosing particularly high) i went for about 30 hours. but my parents knew i wasn't dead because i would wake up every few hours to eat, then go straight back to sleep.
it was a winter break i think, so i would basically only wake up to work out, then take a shower and go back to sleep, but that time i missed my workout (gym closed before i woke up) so i just decided to keep sleeping all the way till the next one.
off-drugs i average about 8 hours, sometimes go to 15 at the most if i am very tired. |

i know exactly what you mean about being drained, and i have the solution to your problem. instead of sleeping the night straigh you drink some water before bed, then you wake up at night to take a piss, after that have a quick snack and drink more water until you're not thirsty, then go back to sleep.
its the hunger and dehydration that makes you feel like in the morning IMHO. dehydration is also responsible for much of the hangover symptoms from alcohol, and it kinda feels similar to oversleeping doesn't it ? |

| Sometimes it's good not to sleep a lot, and sometimes it sucks. My girlfriend is a normal sleeper, and I try to sleep normally with her, but I end up tossing and turning all night keeping her awake. Sometimes I'll take Tylenol PM or Benadryl just to knock me out so that I can sleep the whole night and not keep her up. Or else I'll just lay there for a while until she falls asleep and then get up and watch tv or get on the net. Sometimes I wish I could just sleep normally for her sake. |

on good days...8-9 hours
bad days 5-6 hours maybe less if i have insomnia
but sometimes i get home early from college and feel knackered...plonk onto bed and just nap away...did 5 hours that way and then slept another 7 hours. good 12 hours sleep there...wasnt knackered at all the next day...felt like gold :D |

Yeah, going to bed at 3 am when you have to get up at 7 am again sucks, what? *gg* ;)
btw. What really sucks is when you wake up before your alarm rings... I hate that |

Ugh, that's always what I end up doing though. :(
I've really got to stop it, as it's literally impossible to concentrate if you're short of sleep. |
