the only thing i can see this being used for is people who use laptops for production and wanna pack a keyboard into their backpack so they can produce pretty much anywhere.....
but other than that, this isn't really the best decision for a studio set up at all...
it's not like these midi keyboards are expensive..no matter which length they are...they are very inexpensive, so purchase one with 61 keys or more. |

yea that's my take on it as well!... I'm getting that Edirol PCR-80, 61 key controller... and it's not terribly priced either. I want the octave range! |

too bad it's NOT a one octave conroller.. it's two octaves!! :P
it isn't only useful if you want to carry it around - for me it's good becuase I'm in a dorm setting. I had a full 61 key keyboard before this and it was a lumbering dinasour when I wanted to take it home and to have it around.. with this I can throw it on my lap and just play around :)
I don't really use the keys much anyway.. I mostly use the knobs.. for that purpose you shouldn't get an oxygen8.. get an mk-25c.. it's made by evolution which is a sub-company of m-audio...
but I will admit that 25keys can be a little limiting when I'm just playing around :( but I don't mind much.. |
