| I think that we sould all take a moment and reflect on the genuine effort being made by President Musharraf to catapult his country into modern times. In a time when such unrest exists in southeast Asia, Pakistan is quickly evolving into a regional leader in the fight for a better life. I think that all Muslims should be proud that there are people in powerful places trying to help their people preserve their way of life in a manner that is respectful. Pakastani efforts to seize the throat of terrorism in their region reminds us that their will always be hope, as long as their are people that genuinely care....... :toocool: |

| Yes, Pakistan is doing some things that are very unpopular internally, but are very good for the long-term health of their nation. US money goes a long way to supporting the actions of Musharraf, and it would have been stupid for him to turn down the assistance in favor of becoming a third-world backwater. This way, he has had sanctions lifted, and is now open to the purchase of modern military hardware, which can be further used to fight extremist Islam. |
