dells can't be stable that long.
though old school dells rock
i had a 300mhz dell dimension pull a 25-day uptime on win2k :D |

why because its a dell does it mean it can't be stable?
i've had a 6 week uptime with no stalls on this current machine and only rebooted because i had to after messing about with some msconfig settings |

Work computer: Dell Optiplex 2.1GHz running WinXP, SQL Server 2000, Visual Studio 2003, IIS webserver, lots of other things.
Usually reboot every 2 weeks. |

Yeah, I've easily had my self-built computer with at least 6 weeks uptime. It's always on, may need to reboot cause I configure some settings, install some new drivers or a new program...but other than that it's on all the time. Oh and if the power goes out it goes off of course, but I'm looking into battery back-ups right now. |

there are some decent UPS's on the market for not bad prices at the moment. i might get one myself |
