Ghz mean nothing nowadays.. for all you know could be a celeron with 128KB of L2 cache (bad!)
Building your own PC is the way to go. None of that brand name dell, gateway, vaio bull |
I agree 100%. I've never been more happy than I am now with a computer that I built myself, everything is just how I want it and runs more stable than any POS that one of the namebrand companies could put together. Most of those companies use cheap components and very minimal cooling for the system.
Alienware makes a semi-decent system, if you don't mind paying the price...but you could build one that's much more powerful for about $1000 less. |

Try running some spyware programs, it may be spyware or something. Use Ad-Aware and Spybot, they're both free (be sure to update both before scanning). |
I formatted my PC, so there's no spyware. I had this problem before I formatted, so, it's something with the buddy list options. |

Pretty much as soon as you open explorer spyware can and will get in. What version of AIM are you downloading? Perhaps you should do a search on a search engine about bugs in that version of AIM. |

I do have adware and spybot installed, so it's not a spyware problem.
Also, I have AIM 5.2.3292. |

Word of advice, Try installing an older version of AIM, I use 5.1 cause the new version's file transfer system sucks ass. |

No, What I mean is on 5.1, The file transfer has a feature that lets you change the speed of the transfers, The new version doesn't. |
