One night in NYC (ok, maybe two)

I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada... (aka nowhere). I'm coming to NYC for the first time :D and want to go clubbing Friday April 2nd and Sat April 3rd.
I was hoping to see a HUGE International DJ, in some Mindblowing Manhatten club... problem is... I don't know where to go. I'm clueless when it comes to NYC, and totally want to maximize on my clubbing experience. I can't find any DJ listings (from anyone that I recognize) for that weekend anywhere. Theres lots for other weekends, but none for that one. I've heard of a few clubs (by rumor) being Avalon, Crobar and the Sound Factory... but I dont know how good they are.
HELP... where are the good vibes and good tunes?

the only thing i can see listed for that weekend...is robbie riverra@ sound factory..but sf has been closed down....sorry..... |

There doesn't seem to be anything huge for that particular weekend, but things could change
Yup, check out DT at Arc on Friday - that goes til 10 am, so you could do it as afterhours, after some other party. www.robpromotions.com to save a few bucks.
On Saturday, there's a NASA reunion party, with DJ's who used to spin there 12 years ago, when the club was named as such. Details and ticket info at www.drop.com
Avalon has DJ Hyper ( http://www.rhythmism.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2848 ) and Green Velvet on Friday, DJ Dan on Saturday. It's the former Limelight, and is in a former church
All that I see for Crobar is The Scumfrog on April 2 (Friday)
Check back at www.crobar.com to see what's happening on that Saturday.
Sound Factory got raided a few weeks ago, and the owner got arrested, so it is, and probably will be, closed.

Thanks to party hopper for this suggestion. The NASA party at ARC (www.drop.com) looks awesome to me. DB (easily one of my favorites), Keoki, Jr. Sanchez, Frankie Bones. That'll prolly be the pick for Saturday Apr 3rd.
Avikonen... I wish I could be there the week after... I've always wanted to see Junkie XL. That would truly be a mind blowing show.
Wheel of Steel... perhaps I'll be at ARC for friday too... although I really didn't want to go to the same club twice... It is Danny Tenaglia. DJ Dan at Avalon doesn't seem like a bad prospect either. Avalon is one of the clubs that I kinda wanted to see... so that'll prolly win out.
