I've had this plug for like 2 years and have never ever felt like I've managed to get the full sound out of it. If you've ever heard Guyver's leads from it you'd realise just how class this thing can sound, but I for one am not getting anywhere. I've fiddled for yonks with it with varying degrees. Does anyone have a lot of experience with Vaz2010 or know where there are some decent tutorials? Can't find one on this synth anywhere.

i prefer 2001 and its not too difficult to play with with some basic synth knowledge, play with the detuned saws to begin with ;) |

Yeh i got 2001
I managed to get some decent lead sounds out of it, like luke said start with detune saw. I have 2 detuned saw sounds, one an octave above the other, and the higher pitched one half the sound of the lower one, and it comes out pretty class! |

Yeah its a great synth and its very easy to program. As for the fat sound with vaz its all in the effects. But I usually just Eq it than stick the waldorf d-pole on it and turn up the overdrive. If done properly you will have a very big and enjoyable sound to play with.;) |

Thanks fellas for the tips! Well, I don't do too badly with it, have a listen -

It's just that it's hard to get a synth sound apart from that raspy sort of super saw sound I find. I mean, listening to it on my work speakers it sounds quite tinny. Is this VAZ or my EQing? Often I find it a bit tinny once I've sculpted it to fit in with the rest of the mix.
Have you guys got any sound examples of stuff you've done with Vaz2001 or Vaz2010 that you are happy with?
Cheers! |
