Excellent. The more, the merrier. Obviously the Americans here will say it's bad because a larger EU is a larger competitor for them.

Well, since you'll be categorizing the economies as one, how about you get rid of your double representation in international organizations? We don't need a French or German representative at the UN...just have one from the EU. Because I'm sure that one person can adequately represent the differing national interests...

And for what it's worth, from an economic perspective, an enlarged EU is a very good thing. The current administration supports it, as do American businesses. A single market makes it easier for us to compete in Europe, because there's only one set of regulations.

YEA!! :whip:

And give Japan a seat on the security council. They are the 2nd largest contributer to the UN and no one gives a rats ass.

And what "mess" exactly would that be my dear?

The lower levels of crime than in the USA?

The lower levels of poverty than in the USA?

The higher standard of health care and social security?

The lower influence of fundamentalist religious nutters than the USA?

And who (and this is the winning hand) produces the superior electronic music?!?! :D

Anyway, everybody (every educated body that is) in Europe speaks English now...and France cant stand it! Its as if they think their language/country is important or summat! :D :D

Getting nostalgic about the good old Warsaw Pact, eh comrade? :)

Now, about the federal government, I would support it if there wasn't for one small detail, and that is the number of seats in the UN. If the EU was to turn into a federation, they'd loose all those seats. This way EU has more power. I guess the best move would be to make a federation that is officially not a federation, so they'd get best of both worlds.

And about Japan, heh well, too bad they joined the war on the wrong side...But yeah, I guess it'd be fair to give them and the germans a permanent seat. Although the german position is not that important anymore because their interests are already represented by France.

I think we could get away with it pretty easy. Its just the same as British votes in FIFA. The UK "countries" get a vote each, even tho it is just one country. So for every vote in FIFA that France or Brazil get, the UK gets four (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) as they will always vote together
