ive been using reason for 2 years nearly now and want to know how do you achieve those veracocha - carte blanche style bassliens (used also in gouryella - gouryella), where there are 1/16ths playing the bassline with each one a different frequency, sounds like filtering but dont know if thats correct.
any ideas?

its a really simple saw wave sound with full keyboard tracking. this makes the lower notes sound lower frequency than the higher ones. |

what do you mean by full keyboard tracking mate?

cool - is it possible to do using the subtractor synth |

Yeah you can use subtractor for it. I haven't found out the possibility's of the malstorm synth but for know I can make my sounds with the subtractor |

it's actually real simple.. i don't use reason.. but i'll tell you how i do it in fruity... which can be heard in the track in my sig... (won't mind if you comment on that as well... *shameless promotion* hehe)
simply set the resonance (res) to a pretty high value... Draw in all the notes... and for each note, randomly change each note so that the cutoff is diferent for each note... (higher cutoff equates to a more "higher" sounding note and same goes with the bass except with a "lower" sounding note)
I hope that made at least some sense... |
