heh.. how ironic.. kind of goes with this convo I had with MidaV yesterday:
MidaV: What program do you use? I use FruityLoops
Me: I use Cubase SX 2.0
MidaV: How can you stand the piano roll in that thing!?
Me: Funny, I was thinking the same thing about FruityLoops :D |

the best program is the one that you find the easiest/best to use.
Personally, I bought Reason outright, then added Cubase, had some fun, sold it all and went hardware, and now software is calling me again. :D
Personally, right now I use Buzz and love it. It's utilitarian in the graphics department, which suits me fine, because it's an audio program, I don't need it to look pretty. And connecting everything however I want is nice, too :)
download all the demos you can (Buzz is always free for the full version), and go to town. Try them all. If it supports VSTs, download free VSTs (there are soem great ones out there, actually) and see how it all works together. FL Studio supports ReWire, VSTs/VSTi, DX/DXi plugins, and Buzz Machines. Try everything in the world, and don't spend $300 on a program because of all the "hype". Reason is great, especially if you like or know how to hook up hardware, and patients pays dividends with any program out there. Go at it and have fun. If the program frustrates you, then most likely it should not be what you choose :) |

eh, dont read that bull that you cant get a pro sound out of fruity, and reason sux coz lack of vsts..
if you ARE GOOD then you should be able to make anything pro sound, you just want a tool.
its like a car, if you can't drive, even a ferrari won't help you.
i used Fruityloops and using Reason why, i have no idea about buzz and all
i switched to reason because it has a nice interface, which gives a better feel FOR ME when i make something, adds taste lets say
also i have 1 syynth that does everything, the substractor, no need to seek what vst to use, spares time for me..
but try and see, this post wont answer your question, since you have to experiment your self. |
