| Its no big a surprise that Lynch would support Kerry, since she is pissed off at the way the bush adminstration spun a fictious war story about her capture to boost support for the war. |

well, i'd bet lynch doesn't know sh*t about sh*t like the rest of us, face it we are all guessing about what is and is not true. yeah even the people who think they have it all figured out too (drunk post don't mind me) |

well since she was the one who was shot and taken prisoner i would assume she has a better idea of what happened than any of us who weren't there. I think you have it mixed up, it's you and i who don't know sh*t about what's it like to nearly die fighting for your country. (sober post) |

ok i'm sober now, but i still don't think the soldiers know the truth about the war either. what they (soldiers) know is how horrible war is |

not sure what you mean about the "truth about the war"? |
|

Soldiers know the truth of what happens during the war, not the reason for the war happenning in the first place, like the rest of us.

I don't think it's a suitable question, because it would be impossible to lie about an unknown (whether Iraq had wmds). I'd argue that given the intelligence before the war there wasn't concrete proof that Saddam had them.
In my opinion, wars should only be fought when there is an emanate threat. Even if an unfriendly country has wmds that itself isn't reason enough to attack them. Both the Soviets (in the past) or North Korea (now) fit that criteria and I don't think it would be wise to go to war with either of them. Preemption works well against terrorist but not against nations. Just imagine what the world would be like if every nation adopted a preemptive policy and went to war with countries who could pose a possible threat to them in the future.
Soldiers might not understand about "higher" political reasons, but they have a better understanding of the costs of war, and are less willing to sacrifice their lives for ideological principles. I think the soldiers have got their priorities right. |

I've noticed that NBC news has turned into a propaganda arm for GE lately after the buyout.
"GE, we set Baghdad alight."
Fox News just had a special about how evil the Girl Scouts are.
The Bush Administration presented 237 documented misleading statements or outright lies to the world about Iraq:

Only in America could a leader mislead the public to take their country to war, about the environment, about education, about a new medicare entitlement, and still have a near 50% approval rating. |
