I recieved an offer by email from sound on sound, to get the international edition of their magazine for 40$ a year. I do like the articles they have available on their site, and am wondering how the quality of the print magazine is, and if it is worth it.
Thanks,

quality magazine,
certainly worth the money
It's mostly about hardware tho I think, so if you're only on software I wouldn't buy it. |

| Sound on Sound is a intermediate level magazine. I occassionally buy the magazine for their more interesting articles. It's slightly hardware oriented like DeZma said but it does have reviews and topics on software. They have a regular section for Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic. What is best about the magazine is the level of technical detail about their articles. Most other magazines, Future Music, Electronic Musician and Music Tech tend to brush the surface on many topics. For instance their article on room acoustics was the best I've ever read from all the magazines. They even had an article on how to build your own bass traps. All in all, good magazine with details but there may be some issues where the topics discussed are useless in a computer based studio. |

| I used to buy SOS religiously but let my subscription expire. If you can wait six months they let you read everything online without paying a penny. Anyone wanting to know how to program synths should check their site out as they used to have a section every month on it. :D |

Paul White is GENIUS previewer!
By the way -> there is out a case how Future Music and Computer Music magazine steals previews and texts from SOS :)
SOS knows how good they are and there was no court case , just plain APPOLOGY :) |
