Gus Gus - Purple...

hey people,
so i was listening to this today and need some info on this...
i know that sasha did a mix of this called
Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha's Midnight In Reykjavik Mix)
from 1997 and then hopefully we all know the
Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha vs The Light Mix)
as featured on Oakie's Tranceport...so my question is...
are they the same thing? i mean they sound VERY similar to me. is one perhaps something that The Light did on his own kinda like an edit of sasha's mix? i'm confused :conf: |

Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha vs The Light Mix) is my fav edm track ever. I agree with you that 'The Light Mix' and 'Midnight In Reykjavik Mix' are very similar, almost identical. The only minor differences I've ever noticed is the intro is a bit different with the 'Midnight In Reykjavik Mix' alittle more breakbeat and the final breakdown in the track is also a bit different. My guess is that The Light just reworked Sasha's mix??? |

well the original is pretty breaky to begin with...so perhaps Midnight in Reykjavik just means its Sasha working with Gus Gus (Icelandic producers)...

I agree with Hippieman too so believe what he said there except Sasha vs. The Light Mix is just a slight interpretation of Sasha's mix. Only with Sasha looking over their shoulders, more or less.
You could have checked Sasha's or Gus Gus' sites for more detailed info on the release details. Anyway, i have the 12" of Sasha remixes:

B. Sasha's Midnight In Reykjavik Mix (9:51)
