| Im just curious to see if anybody is having problems finding records (ie, new releases), or if people are generally dissatisfied with the current stores that sell music and equipment. |

Are we talking online, or local?
Online, no. Local, yes. |

Hmmmm, I'm generally pretty happy with our selection of vinyl locally.
My advice would be to check and see if your local vinyl shop has a special order mailing list. It definately improves the odds of spending your money on decent choons when you can browse through a weekly list, listen to samples, and then order in whatever catches your ear.
That said, things are still a little slow over here in North America, I can just imagine how much better the European vinyl shops would be... |

| yeah mate, you can go to a record store with a list of tracks and they can see if they can get a promo from the label on their next shipment... a lot and a lot of people do that. |

I have given my local shop a list of new stuff/releases... and well needless to say.. She SUCKS at bringing stuff in... We are JUST getting Agnelli and Nelson - Holding onto Nothing tomorrow.... How lame is that... |

| i live in bangkok, and the record selection here.. terrible. awful. hideous. the only thing that they have is rap records and the occasional really old random record. nothing worth the $12 one would pay.. i order stuff from chemical, but right now the dollar to pound exchange rate is killing me.. |

the way I see it... if you live in a relatively large-sized metropolis/city with a good club scene... then the better it is locally. For example, things here in Toronto are relatively good locally - we've got a diverse and fairly large club scene. I'm sure places like New York and LA there is really no problems finding the records you want...
However I'm sure things are much better in Europe, I read a British DJ magazine (IDJ) and sometimes the vinyl reviews for last month are still not out here this month or are still relevant. Either way... you buy online... and other than shipping... its good for new releases.
But if you want to go and crate dig... well I wonder how you could really do that online...
anyone done that...? is it possible? |

The stores in Toronto are pretty good although some don't carry certain labels, but If you want to get good ones, check the stores out on Thursdays and Fridays. Record stores in Toronto get their shipment in on Thursdays and with all the Djs in the city... some of the records are gone by Saturday.
I personally don't like dealing with all the hassals with that so I just order online and get exactly what i'm looking for. |
