I do that, too. But I still feel the crowd. I pick out 10-15 records that I would like to play, but that doesn't mean that I ignore the other records in my case. If I notice that the peeps are more into the hard stuff, I'll pick something they like.
Selecting those records in advance only gets you going and helps you find a record FAST when you need it.
I don't think this ends up in ignoring the crowd. |

Im not quite sure if i believe that.. tiesto ripped stuff from his previous sets.. :)
I do know that (i think marco V) did a pre mixed tape on sensation... that was soooooo lame..
I also think he got quite allot of hatemail (at least 1 from me)
I dont think and hope trance aint going into the pop (pre mixed/non live) style..

I know that Marco V. does some crazy stuff.. I last heard his live at Club eau set and the last couple of numbers a exactly mixed the same as at sensation!.. It's the part with Rank 1 - Such Is Life (Deep Dub Mix) and DJ Tomcraft - Prosac (Tony H Yeah Remix).. Maybe I'm mistaken but I find it strange!

Guys you gotta understand that DJ find out how to mix tracks by himself and if he did it for several times the same way maybe its his style of mixing ?

| Just listen to Marco V @ Massive and Marco V @ Qontact. It's almost the same. You just listen to the live sets. But when you whitness it in real live, you don't care. Sure they play the same songs over and over. What did you expact, that they have new quality records every single week. No, thats not how it works my friend. |

That's not totally true what your saying....The top dj's from Holland receive over 200 records a week!!!!! and you wanna tell me there isn't a single track in those 200 that's quality?
We had the same discussion about the Magik 7 cd.....
my opinion is:"don't always play the same sets.....use variation in the set......
come on you can't tell me that you don't have any problem with Marco V mixing Rank 1 - Such is Life (deep dub) with dj Tomcraft - Prosac

how would you guys know? do you receive promos? it is very likely that it takes 500 records to find a decent one or two. most of the records that ARE released these days are total crap - imagine what the promos are like. so many times i have to sift through hundreds of records in the local shop to find one thats half decent. they all sound the same - cheesy and predictable.
imagine what the world would be like if the majority of promos were quality though... a dj could play a completely different set every week - perhaps every night! makes you wonder hey |

dude if you follow the scene a bit then you should know that they receive over the 200 promo's a week, because they are on the top of the promo lists in Holland......it's well known news.......

no wonder.....do you have a status like tiesto, Marco V etc.? i don't think so (i don't think you get hold to new marco V productions...)
BTW these guys get the records sended to their homes.....

I Didn't say that all the promos were quality!!!
but atleast more than 10 are quality.....do you think Top Producers send cheesy records to top dj's don't think so dude.....

you misread what i said. no i dont think top producers are going to send cheesy promos - amateur producers trying to make it big are and there are a lot more of these than top producers, who can only make a certain amount of tracks in a certain amount of time.
you are from holland so there might be a language misunderstanding here, but i wasnt implying that you said all promos were quality i was just entertaining the thought of it. |
