Middle Frequencies - Fill Up

A lot of my tracks seem to be missing elements which fill up the middle frequencies.

Has any1 got any suggestions to what sort of sounds, synths work using just the middle frequencies.

Arps and pads usually fill up the middle frequencies just fine. It depends on what type of track you are making though, because if you are trying to make a track full of energy, pads can really drain that energy while replacing it with emotion. Arps are fine, but unless you do something creative, they are a little overdone and kinda boring these days (especially the Ferry Corsten arp sound). Some progressive trance tracks actually fill the mid up with filtered and resonated percussion sounds, this is a cool effect and can really bring energy into the track.

Cheers fuzz. Good comments. Got some ideas for a pad, but it always seems to drown everything else out, even when I eq it. Sounds muddy too. I'll try about with the perc tho.

I like using pads when nothing else is there:

Intro
End of intro
Big epic pad part
Buildup with lead

Sounds nice for an uplifting track

Hey Man,
Some other ideas for not drowning with your pads are mild panning (pad at R18 and lead synth at L18, for example) or changing the reverb type (larger rooms will have thicker reverb sounds generally) and value. Hope these weren't too obvious.

in reason, some innovation with the new reverb and a sub can do lots of nice things to the midrange :)
