What's up with people playing texas hold'em poker all of sudden? Travel channel had the first show....then ESPN....and now Fox sports got their own poker show. I went to a crappy casino a couple of days ago to play shootout poker and everybody was playing text hold'em. Most of the players were high school kids/newbies playing with $1 chips.

is texas hold'em poker the new trend???

yeah I have noticed the samething with my friends back east. they play every weekend.

In fact about a month or two ago my buddy from seattle got a royal flush at texas holdem, got him about 4 grand for that.

I need to go down to binions here and start playing. Althoguh I always forget what beats what.

fun game though.

I consider myself an above average Hold'Em player- it's
a really fun game- Can be very frustrating if you're not
a patient player. If you're serious about playing though
stay away from the games that are below the 4-8 limit.
Otherwise there really isnt any skill involved. People will just
call you down the whole way and it's not very fun.
I usually play the 10-20 games.
