I'm really crap at synth programming, but do want to get better.

If anyone could advise on some tips to programming synths for really nice pads, Id be well chuffed.

I've only got software vsti's, but I have got:

Albino
Z3ta+
Albino
Pro53
FM7
Absynth
Synth1

Any presets, so I could work out how they're working, would be wicked.

Cheers guys.

Hi, check out State of Matters tutorial (http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...0&highlight=pad) it's for the Pro53 and it's really good.

I think the obvious question here is, "What type of pads are you looking for?"

Do you want long and evolving pads---->Absynth

Of course, they all can pretty much do whatever you're going for, it's just that some synths have an inclination to produce one type of sound over the other.

Yeah, long and evolving pads, for use with uplifting trance.

But also, strong saw pads with short attact, for quick chord changes.

For the stronger pads, pulse width modulation can be quite helpful in getting that airy feal to them.
