Iam looking for some summer balearic trance/house tunes to relax to. Similar to chicane's productions. I don't want chillout, just something nice and relaxing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions, there must be more than that though.

I'm curious, what generally is defined as "Balearic"? Is this stuff that would be played on Ibiza? I've heard Enigma's music (some of it) described as "Balearic Beat" and I think Michael Cretu owns a house there. Still, I'm not sure.

Would Moby's "Shining" fit the bill for you? It's a bit of a rare one (a b-side of his, really) but one of my fave tracks of his... it's lush and shimmering... a bit sad at times but there's an amazing uplifting part too. Some of the pads are kind of like Chicane.

the ultimate in balaeric/classic house would almost certainly have to be sueno latino - sueno latino [the latin dream mix]

if theres anyway you can get this track.. D/L straight away wait for some sun to arrive in your neighbourhood, get the deck chair from your garden shed.. recline to full reclinableness put this track on. jump in your deck chair in the back garden, grabbing a beer on the way fromn the fridge... smokers light up the ciggie.. if not then just lie back and think' me, pure rolling chilledness' :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but there was one track in particular from the Kill Bill soundtrack, it was kind of discoey but I think it had a four on the floor beat like disco and house do... I forget the name at the moment, but it plays during the end battle scene in the snow between you know who... it had handclapping and guitars I think and the singing was peculiar but I enjoyed it. Would that one, sort of count? Ah, I found it:

"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" - Santa Esmeralda

oooh i couldnt give you an A&T on that mate,,.. but whatver it was worked rather excellently in the movie in a satirical way. as a song itself.. i think if you heard it in a club your be rather mundanerised by it.. personally to me it sounds very spanish bar/restauranty [midday] ish to me.. like your sat in the sun at 2pm in the afternoon in the ing blistering sun underneath a massive canopy, a track to compare it to if you know your older shgit... would be... raul orellano - a real wild house... download n listen and tell me im wrong.. i dare ya :p

It's hard to explain the kind of sound I'm after. It's downtempo Ibiza trance style music. The kind of stuff that has a real ibiza/spanish feel to it. Like I said before I'm still looking for trance/house, no chillout stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will be checking them out :)
