you know...i really don't see how you can say those kinda things. if anything its the asian community that creates their own isolation in society. anyone who goes to or has been a student at a public school can see that asians are a very close knit community and have to be the clickiest ethnicity. its not everyone else's fault if you feel introverted and unable to assimulate. we're all americans as far as i'm concerned. so stop trying to play the victim and go make some white friends...i've got lots of asian friends...its not a big deal, we're all people ffs... |

eh, I think all of our prespectives of Middle easterners has been skewed. I noticed on a recent plane ride that people looked funny at a man with a turbin.
so i don't think there is much difference between your "normal" arab-american and your "normal" asian american or you "normal" african american.
I am guessing you are putting more weight on the asian discriminatino cause that is what you go through (wait, you are asian right??/) and so that is what you perceive. I am thinking if you hopped in an arab americans shoes you woudl see the samethings. |

Better yet if you don't like the magazine you could just not buy it.
I don't get people sometimes.
Why do you have to force everyone to think the same way you do? And if they don't, why do you automatically label them "ignorant?" Do you have any evidence to support the hypothesis that their behavior is the direct result of ignorance? Why can't you just leave this stupid little magazine alone? Would that kill you? I mean FFS! |

you're right i taught in a multicultural program and this was one of the problems that came up in a review. Basically asian students weren't interacting with the rest of the group. Asian culture values acedemics over socialization while afro americans are the complete opposite. Either extreme isn't good.
btw, mndeg can defend his attitudes anyway he wants but he is still a racist in my book. |

i simply going to say that IF you are perhaps part asian and part something else, and you had ever been to that asian country you would realise that you are discriminated against there as an outsider...

If say german people have had a long history in china they wouldn't be seen as outsiders.
