SOFTWARE SYNTHS .vs. HARDWARE SYNTHS

I've been told differently by many people. I know I'm not the only one wondering which is the better way. Sound Quality versus price, versus platform, versus physical knobs, versus midi-controlled software... there's just so much to juggle.
software synths can't really replace hardware, can they??
hardware must still have a value to being physical synths, don't they??
Every1 with a point of view on either way to go should drop their opinions here! Then any1 who can't decide can decide for themself. |

This is my assessment
Software sounds best and is the most flexible for people who don't have money to buy hard ware and/or download all their soft synths via warez sites. It sounds even better if you actually paid for it.
Hardware sounds the best and is most flexible for people who actually had the dough and sense/stupidity to shell out a whole lot of cash for it. The more you paid, the better it sounds.

| once you have your piece,, dont matter if its hardware, vst, reason or whatever,,, just keep twisting it every in way you can,,, a person only needs one synth, if you got 1 and your planning on another 1, i say forget about it,, it'll be more of a distraction then a creation tool (unless you know every in thing your synth can do) |

A lot of the times, the price is hardly worth it.. like for a Virus C.. $1500 USD!
Whereas a JP8080 only costs like $500 at the most.. |

| i know people are being nice and everything but why do these topics constantly get replied too? I agree with the 'use the search' ethos. I reckon if the mods ran a remove duplicates jobby on this forum, we would have about 4 topics left. :p |
